Notice of public advertisement of planning proposal

The local government has received an application to use and/or develop land for the following purpose and public comments are invited.

Lot No: 101 Street: 124 Government Road Suburb: Roelands

Proposal:

A “Rural Tourism” facility consisting of a small-scale boutique café and retail space selling local arts and crafts, bespoke fashion items, local produce, and pre-loved items, as well as serving fresh, locally produced food and beverages.

The following works are included as part of the proposal:

  • Reconstruction and refurbishment of the existing dairy shed to meet contemporary building standards;
  • Internal fit-out of the dairy to provide a retail space and a café area;
  • A decked area at the front (west side) of the dairy to provide alfresco seating area;
  • Construction of Chenar Place to an agreed road standard which will include relocation of existing fencing, installation of a culvert, kerbing and asphalt treatment at the intersection of Chenar Place and Waterloo Road;
  • Construction of a designated hardstand parking area within the site;
  • Installation of suitable public ablutions facilities.

Submissions may be made on the proposal in the period ending on the 23rd day of December 2021. Comments on the proposal may be submitted to the local government in writing on or before that day.
