NOTICE OF PROPOSED LOCAL PLANNING POLICY
Shire of Harvey District Planning Scheme No. 1
Council has resolved to adopt the following amended Local Planning Policies pursuant to Part 2, Division 2, Clause 5 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, and is required to advertise the draft amendments for a period of 21 days, following which Council will resolve whether or not to proceed with the policies as presented:
Overview of amended policy provisions:
4.1.2 Home Occupations
Update legislation and improve the efficiency of processing ‘Home Occupation’ applications.
Application criteria for mobile businesses that involve the storage of a ‘Commercial Vehicle’ or storage of goods at the property, but not operating a business on premises, have been updated.
Introduced criteria for waiving public advertising requirements where no external impacts exist.
4.1.10 Structures on Farming Land
To introduce additional clarification on the types of structures that are to be assessed
To introduce exemptions from the requirement to obtain Development Approval for structures on vacant farming land where the proposal meets all the requirements of the Scheme and the policy.
4.1.11 Reflective Materials within a “Place of Landscape Value”
To introduce exemptions from the requirement to obtain Development Approval where the proposal meets all the requirements of the Scheme and the policy.
4.1.15 Advertisements
To introduce exemptions for classes of advertisements that comply with the development standards of the policy.
Previous sections relating to exemptions under the current policy have been removed where inconsistent with the Deemed Provisions.
Definitions have been updated to reflect amendments to the Deemed Provisions.

Submissions
Any comments on the proposed amended policies should be made in writing and submitted to the undersigned no later than 4.00pm on Thursday, 16 June 2022 by email to shire@harey.wa.gov.au or as a hard copy by post, using the heading Local Planning Policy Review and making reference to the relevant policy name and number.
