Consultation has concluded

The Shire of Harvey is developing an Early Years Strategy for all children from conception to 9 years old. The development of this strategy has the primary aim of listening to the voices of children, students, parents, early childhood professionals and the broader community to ensure early childhood programs respond to their needs and aspirations.

It is expected that the Early Years Strategy will improve outcomes for children and families within the Shire of Harvey through:

  • Improved local planning, development and evaluation of early years' programs, activities and facilities across all Council departments;
  • Stronger partnerships and networks across the service system; and
  • Focused family and community connections

We value that: Children are decision makers and are encouraged to contribute in creative ways towards the development of this plan.

Consultation with Service Providers, Local Primary Schools, Daycares and Playgroups will be carried out over August and September. Please see Key Dates for Pop-up Community Engagement sessions.
